The 90-second read

Q4 2026 has 66 weekdays on paper. Your outbound team will not prospect on 66 of them. Cut the end of December and the baseline is 57. Today is 10 October, so 50 are left. Most Q4 plans split the target evenly across 3 months and hope December produces pipeline. It will not. A December demo starts with prospecting weeks earlier. This play turns the plan into capacity: count the real selling days, convert quota into bookings and accounts per rep per day, allocate by each rep's own conversion, date the work twice, and correct it every Friday. The method comes from an outbound operator whose team had its biggest pipeline month ever in October. He does not credit the planner alone, and neither do I.

Read time: about 6 minutes. First step runnable Monday morning with a calendar and your Q3 CRM export.

The #1 move this week

Count your real selling days before you touch any target.

Start from 66 weekdays: 22 in October, 21 in November, 23 in December. Take out 21 to 31 December, which is 9 weekdays, and your baseline is 57. From Monday 12 October, 50 of those remain. Then subtract US Thanksgiving week if you sell into the US, rep leave, local holidays and internal days. The number you land on is the denominator for everything else in this play.

Start here: open the calendar, list every day each rep cannot prospect from 12 October to 18 December, and write the total team selling days on one line. You need the team calendar and 45 minutes.

Ignore this week: raising activity targets. Raise them before you know the days and the bottleneck, and you push more work through the constraint.
